Patrician College of Arts and Science marked its Silver Jubilee Opening Ceremony on Aug.1. The event, commemorating 25 years of growth and service in higher education, was attended by numerous dignitaries and guests.
Bro. Dr. S. Arockiaraj, Deputy Province Leader, Brothers of St. Patrick, welcomed the gathering, reflecting on the college’s journey. J.Innocent Divya, IAS, and Dr. J.Radhakrishnan, IAS, released the Silver Jubilee Anthem, Flag, and Badge, commending the college’s commitment to inclusive and value-based education. Dr. Radhakrishnan also advised students on the importance of kindness and respect.
The ceremony featured several other notable releases, including a special postal cover, a coffee table book, and a documentary film. Prof. Rita John, Registrar, University of Madras, highlighted the college’s academic achievements, while J.M.H. Hassan Maulana, MLA, lauded its social outreach.
The Chief guest, Dr. Govi Chezhian, Minister for Higher Education, delivered the keynote address, emphasising equity in education and the successful implementation of the Dravidian model. He also underscored the relevance of the Naan Mudhalvan scheme in enhancing student employability.
Following the ceremony, a Heritage Walk was conducted, culminating in the inauguration of the Heritage Gallery, celebrating the institution’s legacy and vision for the future.
