Rajukkal Sangam holds 42nd AGM

Rajukkal Sangam Chennai (Thiruvanmiyur) held its 42nd Annual General Body Meeting on July 6 and reviewed community achievements, financial reports, and future plans.

The meeting began with a prayer by Shyamala Chandrakumar and a welcome address from Mylai Govindaraju. President Dr. Y. Ravi praised the community’s talented youth. Secretary Devan and Treasurer V. Gopalan presented the annual and financial reports, respectively.

As part of its social outreach, the Sangam provided monetary aid to three economically weaker individuals, distributed by Athinarayanaraju. Academic excellence awards were given to top Class X and XII students by scientist Pandurangan, and the prestigious Seva Award was conferred on T. Kuppabai for her exemplary community service.

Chief guest M.P.Vijay Kumar, CFO of Sify Technologies, administered a ‘digital detox’ oath to the youth and discussed the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence.

The Sangam extended gratitude to former presidents V. Ragupathi and K. Satyanarayanaraju for their guidance. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Sripadam.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
