K.R Kathir Murugan (MBA), Councillor of Ward 170, organised a Samathuva Pongal on Jan.14. Pongal gifts including saree, kumkum box, sugarcane and sweets were distributed to nearly 1000 people who participated in the event. Kottur R.Seetharaman, S.Murthy and other party officials participated.
Earlier, on Jan.12, the Councillor also initiated a campaign for school students to create awareness on how the burning of plastic and other waste, especially during Bhogi, causes air pollution.
