The Appayya Dikshitha Foundation (ADF), Kottivakkam, continued its annual tradition of distributing Diwali gift hampers to underprivileged individuals and workers in and around Kottivakkam and Thiruvanmiyur.

The hampers, containing dhotis, sarees, chudidhar materials, readymade dresses, sweets, and savouries, were distributed on Oct.18, at the Pandurangan temple in Natco Colony, Kottivakkam. Chief guest S. Rajappan, Executive Director of SICAL presented gifts to temple priests, sweepers, and local vendors.

ADF also organised a distribution event at Dr. Sadhana Rao Ghoshala in Neelankarai, ECR, where High Court Advocate Udaykumar presented hampers and readymade dresses to the workers caring for rescued cattle.

Additionally, the Foundation’s outreach extended to supporting future generations, as Brahmasri Dr. C.L. Ramakrishnan, IPS (retd), former DGP and two-time recipient of the President of India medal, distributed Diwali dresses to students of Vedic patashalas. This effort included over 225 students from far-off Veda-Patashalas in Maharashtra.
