Shanti Aiyar, a resident of Besant Nagar since 1989, has done a literal word-for-word translation of Shakespeare’s romantic and humorous play Tempest, for the Tamil audience. The book is named Sooravali, Soozhchi, Manidhaneyam. “Understanding the book in the Indian context provides a way for all to enjoy the nuances which would otherwise be foreign,” said the author.

The book is among the author’s favourites. It was originally written for the visually impaired to empower them to appreciate world literature and provide them a lifestyle view of Europe and England. The book is available on Amazon at Rs.239.
