The Theosophical Order of Service (TOS), the humanitarian wing of the Theosophical Society, held its annual convention on June 7 and 8 at the Adyar campus. Founded by Dr. Annie Besant in 1908, TOS operates in over 35 countries, dedicated to reducing suffering through selfless service.
This year’s convention brought together 65 members from across India to reflect on the theme of ‘Altruistic Service’. Discussions and presentations showcased TOS’s wide-ranging work – women’s empowerment, educational aid, medical outreach, environmental awareness and Theosophical living.

The delegates appreciated the serene ambience of Adyar, with events held at the Blavatsky Bungalow, Annie Besant Hall, the Library, and the Bharat Samaj Temple. A highlight was a visit to the Olcott Bungalow Eco-Development Centre, which educates young people on biodiversity and climate change.
The TOS proudly honoured Sri Nalli Kuppusamy, a renowned philanthropist and member of Chennai TOS, for his lifelong service. With 7,500 members and 100 active groups across India, TOS continues its mission of compassionate action for humans, animals, and the planet.

Glad to represent West Bengal in the meet. Thankyou Sir Shivprasad and to my seniors present in the camp.
Hope to work together in the years to come in the most altruistic manner possible.
