Thousands participate in ISKCON Rath Yatra

The 40th annual Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra 2023, by ISKCON – ECR, was successfully completed on June 25 with thousands of participants at the event. 

Devotees engaged in constant kirtan during the Rath Yatra festival, encouraging everyone to take up the chanting of the holy names as propagated by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

This year, the Rath Yatra was inaugurated at 3 pm near the Royal Enfield showroom. The Rath went in the routes of Palavakkam, ECR, and proceeded via Neelankarai – Vettuvankeni – Injambakkam, ending at Akkarai near Goyal Marble at ECR. 

His Holiness Bhanu Swami Maharaj, Governing Body Commissioner of ISKCON, presided over the festival. Guests of Honour for the event were industrialist Suresh Sanghi and Sunil Nair – CEO of Nair Associates. Prasadam was served with kirtan all along the path.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
