The results for the 10th and 12th standards of the Tamilnadu state were declared on May 6 and 10 respectively. Here are some of the toppers from our neighbourhood:


St. Patrick’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Adyar, is a school with a rich legacy of 150 years shining brightly in the realm of education. As in the past, this year too the school has recorded cent per cent results adding to its illustrious accolades. A total of 119 students appeared for the 12th Board Exams and all of them passed with good scores with many of them securing distinction.

C.Akash Antony secured the highest with 595 (state rank holder and school 1st) followed by M.Adhiraj with 567 (school 2nd) and S.Kevin with 562 (school 3rd).

From the Olcott Memorial School, Besant Nagar, in a display of academic excellence, Harini M secures the top spot with outstanding scores of 97 in Economics and 94 in Tamil. Following closely behind, Aravindh V clinches second place with an impressive 98 in Commerce, joined by Dharshini, also achieving 98 in Commerce.

Voluntary Educational Trust of Indira Nagar Women’s Association (VETRI), an arm of Indira Nagar Women’s Association (INWA) has been imparting free tuition for under-privileged school children and financial support for their higher studies for the last 24 years. This year, all the VETRI children of 10th and 12th Standard got through and brought laurels.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
