Dr.R.Nataraj, IPS, former MLA, provided free 4-wheelers driving training and licenses to underprivileged women, through the Caring Hunts Park Change for Women Empowerment. K.R.Kathir Murugan, Councillor of Ward 170, distributed the liceses to the benefitted women from the ward on Mar.23 as part of the Women’s Day celebrations.
Project Aval is a Women’s Day initiative by The Art Brew Creative Company with the objective of helping small-scale women entrepreneurs by extending branding and communications support to help them. The company, as a start to the initiative, identified a flower shop run by Ms Gomathi on 2nd Avenue Besant Nagar and provided assistance in the form of signage and illustrated boards that were made from digitised hand-drawn illustrations and then executed on acrylic sheets.
Councillor of Ward 169, J.Kayalvizhi celebrated Women’s Day with the conservancy staff of her ward. She also distributed gifts to them on the occasion.
Representatives from Santosh Hospital distributed roses to the women beach walkers of Elliot’s Beach and the conservancy workers there. They also distributed pamphlets about the health programmes offered by the hospital, for women, this month.
Ward 170 Councillor K. R. Kathirmurugan was the special guest at the Women’s Day program organised by Vetri Sports Foundation Group at Nehru Indoor Stadium. He encouraged the women and spoke about the importance of Women’s Day to women sports persons there.
Vijayalakshmi Masilamani, Thiruvanmiyur, received the ‘Woman of Achievement Award’ from Dr.A.Mohamed Mohideen, Finance Director of Powerflow Middle East LLC, at an event organised by Nandavanam Foundation, on Mar.3.
Girls of ’72 Batch of Rosary Matriculation School met to celebrate Women’s Day at Gandhi Nagar. It was a day of exchanging nostalgic memories of the school and gifts for each other. A few were meeting their classmates after 52 years.
