This year’s World Diabetes day’s (Nov.14) theme was ‘Access to Diabetes Care’. NIEPMD collaborated with HTL and Wockhardt Foundation to organise a blood screening camp for staff, children and adults with disabilities.
The camp, with participation from more than 100 individuals, aimed to promote health awareness and early disease detection of the participants. Screening tests included sugar level, HBA1C, BMI, liver function, haemoglobin and kidney function. Counselling was also provided by medical professionals.
Dr. Nachiketa Rout – Director, inaugurated the camp in the presence of Dr. S. Karthikeyan – Associate Professor (Clinical Psychology), Dr. Abinaya – Senior Consultant (CSR) and Dr. K.K.Dhanavendan – Special Teacher (CP).
