To mark World Environment Day (June 5), the Reserve Bank Staff Quarters School in Besant Nagar organised a rally and awareness program to promote environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local residents. The rally began at the school and concluded at Elliot’s beach, with participants holding placards and banners calling for a pollution-free environment. Along the route, students performed a skit and a street play that highlighted the impact of pollution and the importance of individual responsibility in protecting the environment.
As part of the initiative, students and teachers distributed and planted tree saplings, reinforcing the message of the importance of greenery and sustainability. The event concluded with a pledge to adopt eco-friendly practices and a beach cleanup drive.
The awareness program served as a reminder of the power of collective action and the role communities can play in preserving the environment. The school also announced its plan to conduct similar activities year-round to instil environmental responsibility among students.
Through this initiative, the Reserve Bank Staff Quarters School reaffirmed its commitment to a greener, cleaner future for all.
