Mangayakarasi Mahlir Manram Celebrates Teachers’ Day with Tribute and Empowerment
Sastri Nagar’s Mangayakarasi Mahlir Manram marked Teachers’ Day with heartfelt celebrations, honouring six dedicated educators – Dhakshayani, Uma, Rajivi, Aarthi, Geetha and Neela. Each received a thoughtful gift from Club President Archana Ramasundaram, IPS, recognising their service and impact.

Special appreciation was extended to Neela, who recently conducted 10 days of free tailoring classes, empowering local women with valuable skills. The dresses stitched by the trainees were proudly exhibited during the event.
John Alex, Program Director of Equitas Trust, was invited as guest of honour, acknowledging Equitas Trust’s role in deputing Neela for the charitable initiative. He distributed certificates to the trainees and highlighted the growing participation of underprivileged women in microfinance, praising their commitment to repayment and self-improvement.
Rotary Club Celebrates Teachers’ Day at Arignar Anna School
The Rotary Community Corps of Bluewaves, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chennai Green City (RI District 3234), celebrated Teachers’ Day on Sept.4, at the Arignar Anna Higher Secondary School in Besant Nagar.

The event honoured all 28 teachers of the school with shields, recognising their contributions to the noble profession. V. Gopi, President of RCC Bluewaves and an alumnus of the school, shared fond memories of his time there, recalling the institution’s strength in the 1990s.
Rtn. S.N. Balasubramanian, Executive Secretary and Director, and Rtn. R. Balasubramanian, a member of the Rotary Club of Chennai Green City, also addressed the gathering. Alumni of the school were also honoured for their continued association with the institution. The teachers reaffirmed their commitment to providing holistic education to students, preparing them to become responsible citizens.
