The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is set to co-organise the fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS 4.0), a month-long cultural exchange celebrating the bond between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.
The event begins on December 2, 2025, and concludes with a finale in Rameshwaram. The theme for this year is ‘Karpom Tamil’ (Let us Learn Tamil), featuring the launch of the ‘Tamil Karpom’ initiative, which will bring 300 students from Uttar Pradesh to Tamil Nadu for language orientation.
IIT Madras serves as the Knowledge Partner and manages logistics alongside nodal institution Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Director Prof. V. Kamakoti highlighted that the event seeks to spread awareness about the richness of the Tamil language and includes an Agasthya Expedition tracing the sage’s path from Tenkasi to Varanasi.
Over 1,500 delegates from Tamil Nadu will participate across seven categories. Public registration for the Sangamam is open at https://kashitamil.iitm.ac.in, reinforcing the goal of strengthening India’s unity through cultural and linguistic ties.
