Avvai Home, a prestigious educational institution, on July 28, celebrated Founders Day in conjunction with the birthday of the visionary leader, Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy. Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, a renowned academic and revered figure in the field of education and medicine, graced the event.

Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy, a pioneering social reformer, physician, and politician, played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of women in India. Her steadfast determination and commitment to women’s empowerment inspired the founding of Avvai Home, an institution which empowers underprivileged women and children to live a life of dignity through education. Every year, the school celebrates Founders Day to honour Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy’s legacy and commemorate her invaluable contributions.

The school grounds were adorned with banners, rangoli, flowers, and balloons, reflecting the vibrant spirit of celebration. The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting. This year’s celebration was particularly special as Avvai Home unveiled its new building with all modern amenities – Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddy Block, inaugurated by Dr.Sudha Seshayyan.

The event was attended by students, parents, teachers, and alumni, all coming together to celebrate the achievements of the school. Dr. Sudha Seshayyan delivered an inspirational speech that resonated with everyone present. She requested the students to embrace lifelong learning, show respect for all, and serve the nation with patriotism and loyalty. Her explanation on the unique wiring of female brain cells which enables multitasking was thought provoking.

Some of the outstanding students were felicitated at the event. The cultural program that followed showcased the immense talent and creativity of the students. The dedication and skill exhibited by the young performers were a testament to the school’s commitment to encouraging holistic development among students.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the chief guest for gracing the occasion, as well as to well-wishers, donors, teachers, and students.
