To help out citizens with passport services, a ‘May I Help You’ desk has been set up at the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Anna Salai. Citizens can now walk into the RPO and take guidance on passport services, clarify doubts about filling up passport forms, appointment scheduling, documents required for passports, etc. One can also call these numbers 2851 3639, 2851 3640 or send queries by WhatsApp to 73053 30666. These citizen-friendly services will be available on all working days between 10 am and 4 pm.

Regional Passport Officer S.Koventhan said that the passport process is simple and applicants can complete it by themselves, thus not requiring them to approach agents / touts. He iterated that there is only one official website for submitting passport applications: www.passportindia.gov.in. Applications can also be submitted through the official mobile app ‘mPassport Seva’ by PSP Divison, MEA, Govt of India. He urged applicants not to share confidential information or personal documents with agents / touts, who can potentially misuse the information. The helpdesk has been set up to address basic queries and doubts of citizens to prevent them from falling into the trap of agents and touts, he added.
