The CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) and the CSIR Madras Complex (CMC) observed Gandhi Jayanti on Oct.2, 2025, as Shramdhan Day, dedicating the day to cleanliness and environmental initiatives.

The event began with floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and a Swachhata Shapath (Cleanliness Pledge) administered to all staff. Employees from both CSIR-SERC and CMC then participated enthusiastically in a cleanliness drive across the campus and at the Tower Testing Research Station, Thirusulam.
