Probus Club of Chennai elects new office bearers

The Probus Club of Chennai has elected a new team for the 2025–2027 term, with M.Annadhurai taking charge as the 18th President. The installation ceremony was held on Apr.26 at the Russian Centre for Science & Culture. Ramaraj has assumed office as Secretary, alongside a 19-member team of office bearers.

The event was graced by dignitaries including V.Rama Rao (President, FOSCATAN), Edwin Babu (State Head, HelpAge India), Kalaimamani Ervadi S.Rathakrishnan and Kalaimamani Kizhambur Sankara Subramanian. Attendees also included prominent figures from the senior citizen community and fellow Probus clubs.

The Probus Club of Chennai is a senior citizens’ association of retired professionals, businessmen, and government officials, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras. It provides financial and moral support to old age homes and orphanages, awards scholarships, offers medical benefits to needy seniors, honours contributing senior citizens, and fosters fellowship through monthly meetings, tours, and events.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
