The Thambras Adyar Unit successfully marked Navaratri on Sept.29, with a vibrant function at Yogalaya, Gandhi Nagar. The event combined traditional worship with a significant community welfare drive.

The unit performed the Dampathi and Saraswati Pooja, led by priest Santhanam, and honoured an elderly couple with a saree and dhoti.

A central element of the celebration was the clothing distribution: nine young girls (kanyas) received new dresses, five ladies were given six-yard sarees, and 16 elderly married women (Sumangalis) received nine-yard sarees.

The evening’s cultural program featured a delightful bhajan concert by Panchami and her daughter Jyothiprabha, accompanied by Tharun (harmonium) and Aravindaksha (mridangam).
