Ezhuthu Sirpi Dr Vijayalakshmi Masilamani released her 20th book ‘Bharathi en Paattan’ on Nov.25 at the Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan. Dr Vijayalakshmi is a writer and the Founder-President of Suriya Thendral women upliftment organisation. 

The book was released by Dr Nalli Kuppuswamy Chettiar and the first copy was received by R Sundar, the son of Subramania Bharathi’s nephew. Film lyricist Nellai Jeyantha reviewed the book. The book showcases Bharathiyar’s poems and its effects on promoting patriotism and motivating women to become empowered through education.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
